So thrilled and beyond happy to publish the second and last part of my Paris Diaries 2018! The first part was a big what I saw in one day, and this second part shows my second day and a little bit of the third day in Paris. Years ago, when I went with my parents, we did visit a lot but not as much as I thought we did. I always dreamed about seeing Montmartre and the beautiful Sacré-Coeur with my own eyes; some even call it the artist’s district, so I was looking forward to catching it through my camera lens.
I took the metro and then climbed all the way up to the hill. The view from there is just breathtaking, sadly I don’t have pictures from the Sacré-Coeur because I only took some with my phone which I lost the following summer.
I remember it being quite cold and windy up there, just right by the Sacré-Coeur, so it was quite hard to have the camera in my hands for too long. I tried to stay the longest I could to enjoy the beautiful view, but eventually, it was time for me to continue visiting the city. However, I finally got to see the most adorable pink house I had ever seen, La Maison Rose, which is a little Café-Restaurant, but it was quite full. It was tough to take pictures without people stopping by, and I think I spent around thirty minutes there!
How adorable and magical that an old and vintage car passed in the same street, at the exact same moment I was done taking all the pictures from the house?!
I then took another way to go back downtown and somehow landed near the Musée D’Orsay, which I was so excited to visit but sadly had to forget the idea, it started to rain a little bit and the lines outside were extremely long, so I just continued walking along the Seine, and explored the Invalides Quarter. Passed by the most famous bridges like Pont Alexandre, Pont des Arts & Pont Neuf. I was not far from the Eiffel Tower but my legs were getting quite tired so I kind of gave up the idea to see it this time, although I had seen it in the past.
Unexpectedly, I crossed paths with one of the many Ladurée Paris coffee shops there is in Paris, although it was in my original plan to visit one. Again, it was full and impossible to sit inside! Luckily for me, I would later find out that we have one in Lisbon too, which is the one I went to for my very first time! Anyway, I was thrilled and even got a little bit emotional, because it was the very time I had one right in front of me, and suddenly my phone background turned finally real, it wasn’t just a picture I had saved from Pinterest anymore, it was REAL!
Eventually, I took the metro back to “Hôtel de Ville” and admired the City Hall and Caroussel one last time, I also entered into the BHV Marais, just in front, which is a vast department store. For years, I have always loved the Lancaster Paris bags – a french brand, which I love the simplicity and chic style of it and if I had to bring back one souvenir from this travel, it would definitely be one bag of this particular brand! I instantly fell for this beige cream color, although there were other pretty colors, I thought that this one would go with anything, AND the fact that I found the exact style I was going for, was incredibly surprising! I always loved the crossbody clutch style from the brand. Anyway, needless to say that I was incredibly smitten with it, also because it was the first expensive bag I had ever bought! The bag is now sold-out, as it is from a 2017 collection, but you can still get it HERE for a reduced price (USA and Italy only) OR from the same retailer, international shipping on eBay.
On my last full day, I visited a little bit more in-depth the Marais and in the afternoon, I met two french blogger friends – Laureva & Marie, whom I was so happy to see and talk to for the very first time finally. They showed me parts I had never seen before like the Asian district, and we even had a nice and long talk around some bubble tea, followed by a little photo session in Rue Crémieux, the most colorful street in Paris!
And this concludes one of the most epic and amazing trips I have ever done! I still don’t know if I’ll be able to go again this year in April, like I was planning to and if indeed I can’t go… well I’ll always have Paris, so it’s okay for me to wait a little longer… at least until traveling becomes less dangerous. Have you ever been to Paris or are you planning to? Let’s talk about it in the comments section ♡
